So I started collecting this pottery about a year ago. However, it was after Valentine's Day. So over the last few weeks I've been on this hunt to find some great pieces in order to decorate my hutch! It is so much fun to switch out the décor for this hutch. It really refreshes the room and gives it a new look for every holiday.
So a majority of these items were recently purchased. As I lived on the couch a couple weeks ago due to the flu, my wonderful mother scored most of these pieces. I just love the hints of baby pink along with the peony florals. When decorating a space in your home, the main things to focus on are the textures, colors, and heights. So for example, when looking at my hutch I always begin with a clean slate. I find this easiest because with a cluttered space it can become overwhelming really fast and make you want to jump out of the closest window. Yes, that is overdramatic but that is how quickly this whole decorating process is. Okay anyhow, clean slate. Next I take my larger pieces and then fill in the smaller around it. If needed you can use random items to prop things into place. Next, after all my pieces are in the places I want them, I add in some risers to create different heights. My favorites so far are from the Bullseye Playground at Target, only a buck a piece! Then I like to finish it off with some florals, whether it be greenery, stems, picks, you name it. And Well-ah! I love this look and how delicate it is.
