DIY Dollar Tree Pumpkin Wreath with Farmhouse Beads

I recently went to Dollar Tree to take a look at their new fall décor, and stumbled across this 3d wire wreath form. As soon as I saw it I immediately thought of a DIY. This post is a step by step how to on how I created this beaded pumpkin wreath using a dollar tree item.

So I began with this wreath form. All items used will be shown in the next photo. Now if you want you can spray paint the form if you dislike the black, I didn't mind it so I left it as is.

So you will need:

Dollar Tree pumpkin wreath form

hot glue

super glue

scissors

wire cutters

ribbon of choice

rope or jute twine

wired twine

farmhouse wood beads, mine are from Amazon, unfinished but can be easily painted

florals or greenery of choice

First step I recommend is to add your stem, that way you aren't flipping the wreath over and back once the beads are on, its easier to move without the beads. Another tip or suggestion is the first time I posted this I used jute twine for the stem, this time around I used nautical rope; if you use jute twine you will not need a hanging device, with the rope you will because of how thick it is. That is why I added the string to hang this one. Anyways to begin this step all you do is begin wrapping the rope/twine at the bottom of the stem like so...

Then, after it is wrapped to the top, secure it with hot glue. BE CAREFUL. The bubble on my finger proves to watch where you put your finger lol.

Now if you have OCD like me that little edge of wire up top that wasn't covered will bother you, so what I did was cut a small piece of rope to fit that top portion, and added hot glue around it so it would not show like this:

So there is the stem! Next step is to cut all the 3D portions leading up to the frame in order to add the beads. Another tip is to cut them all at once, that way you aren't disturbing the glue drying while trying to clip off the next wire piece. Also make sure you cut as close to the edge as you can, like this:

Sorry is the pic isn't great, its hard to do it with one hand. But just snip with about an inch left from the base of the form. Next is to start stringing your beads!

So here is the question everyone askes me. "How did you get them to stick back on since you cut the wire?" Well here is my best way to show and describe it: So when you are near the end of your strand, with about an inch left of the wire, grab your last bead and feed hot glue through each end, again be careful.

Once you got the glue one the bead, take the loose end of the strand and attach the final bead with the hot glue, and at the same time take the strand and stick the other end of the bead to the cut edge of the form like this :

So the final bead acts as a combining piece with the hot glue, hold it there for about 15 seconds or until the glue has set and it should be secure and dry. here is another photo

That final bead is what attaches the broken wire back together, along with the hot glue. Now for more support, I added some super glue to end where the wire was broken, just to make sure its snug.

Once you've gotten the first strand done, you just keep going!

So there ya have it guys! Like I mentioned earlier if you use the rope for the stem you will probably have to add a hanging device, I just used jute twine and tied it on. This time I wanted a more vibrant fall look, so I added some 99 cent florals from Micheals and a pre made bow from Dollar Tree, hot glue them on and there she is! I really hope this helped answer some questions you may have had. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to read this! Happy Crafting and stay safe everyone!

What I found to be helpful is use toothpicks in the hole to connect the 2nd bead to the top (1st) bead. Makes the wire fit 1 more bead for a full look.
