So recently I've been collecting bee themed pottery! After sitting all the pieces side by side, I decided they needed a little something more. Well because it is a bee theme, I figured what it needed was a beehive!
So onceeeeee again I went to the Dollar Tree and I picked up three bundles of nautical rope and a small planter. Here is a photo of everything I bought for this project.
So after beginning at the bottom, I started working my way up and up wrapping the rope around. Now every six inches or so I'd a dab of hot glue to help secure and tighten the layers to each other. I will say this project is so time consuming, but once again just turn on a your favorite binge worthy show and get gluing!
Keep going!
Now once you get to the top, it gets a tad tricky. But hey, it just takes a little patience. So once you get to the end of the planter, you then begin to hot glue the rope slightly off to the side of the previous rope. If you want to, you can fill in the hole entirely, but to be honest I didn't mind the open hole at the top. No one will see it!
Next is to make the fake opening to the beehive. All you need to do is to snip a small piece of rope off, and begin to glue onto the surface of the beehive, in a circular shape. Once that is set in place, I used black paint in order to make it look more like a hole in a beehive.
And boom! I think it is the most darling little thing. I also think it fits perfectly with the bee pottery.
Last thing I did was add a little bow, and paired with the pottery it is just so summery. Give this post a heart if you think it is a cute set up! Makes me so excited for summer!
